back when i had my own gallery, with more room to work and less personal life, i did a fair amount of tangible, rather than digital, 3D work... was much influenced by the brothers quay at the time.
ran across this the other day & thought i'd put it up while i try to keep up with other things.
thanks. i just put her right on the scanner. she used to be part of an installation in a kind of shadowbox made from some reclaimed stuff that was pretty neat. it just takes up so much space, though... would love someday to get back to that kind of work.
it's fun to play with. usually i just arrange things on it and then use either a dark or white back cloth. they actually have a decent depth of field, usually. i started with it when i wanted to document some very fragile little plants with a lot of detail before they wilted, and then when i saw the result it turned into a quick way to produce interesting images when i needed to create something and didn't have the time.
thanks... she deserved to come out of the box, i think. i tend to bury my old stuff, often because it carries a lot of difficult memories. it's nice to find that sometimes the work outlasts the discomfort...
I love the brothers Quay work
try it!
